Allegri Keeping Faith In Higuain

posted by Somayina Offor.

Massimiliano Allegri says Juventus have faith in their striker , Gonzalo Higuain, despite his poor start to the new season.
Higuain joined the club for €90 million from Napoli in July 2016, and has only scored two goals in seven appearances.
Allegri says he still has faith in the Argentina international, despite the striker failing to score against Barcelona, Sassuolo and Fiorentina.
“The most important thing is that Higuain has total faith from his team-mates, the coach, the club and the fans,” he told a news conference.
“These periods happen to every striker when the ball doesn’t go in for two or three games, but he will break through.
“He played well on Wednesday night [against Fiorentina].”

How to Make the Best Chicken Caprese with Juicy Chicken

Say goodbye to boring dry chicken breasts. This recipe makes chicken that’s unbelievably tender, juicy and flavorful. It’s easy, too. Scroll down to see three easy tips for making it best!
How to Make the Best Chicken Caprese with Juicy Chicken
Marinate the chicken breasts. Even the simplest marinade can make a huge difference — marinated chicken becomes moist, juicy and flavorful. Just 20 minutes in a marinade will make a difference. You could leave it for longer, but there is no need to go past 2 hours for chicken breasts (a whole chicken can marinate overnight). A resealable plastic bag or small rimmed dish makes marinating easy, too. In the recipe below, we marinate in a mixture of fresh lemon juice, garlic and basil. It’s simple, but makes a major difference to the end result.
Marinate the chicken breasts
Cook the chicken in a skillet with lid. That’s right, for the juiciest most tender chicken breasts, sear them on one side in a skillet. Flip then cover with a lid and cook over low heat until done. The whole process takes 15 to 20 minutes. We do this in our Lemon Chicken Breast Recipe with Cucumber Feta Salad. Based on the reviews, you guys agree that sear, flip and cover is the way to go when it comes to chicken breasts.
Cook the chicken in a skillet with a lid
Give the tomatoes some time. Whether you are making this caprese salad or another tomato based salad, it’s really important to salt your tomatoes and then set them aside for 10 to 15 minutes before serving. As they sit with the salt, they become more flavorful and release some of their juices (also called tomato water). It’s this tomato water that turns into the dressing for our salad.

Take a look at the photo below, see all that juice in the bottom of the bowl? That’s flavor!! So much flavor. When the tomatoes are ready, you can throw in mozzarella cheese and some torn basil leaves. Spoon that on top of a bed of spinach and your juicy chicken breasts and you are set!

Seriously Good Chicken Caprese Salad Recipe

  • PREP
  • COOK
  • TOTAL
Delicious warm or cold, this is the ultimate summer dinner. Choose ripe, high-quality tomatoes for this. Mozzarella cheese is traditional for caprese salad, but this is equally delicious with feta and creamy goat cheese. We prefer to leave balsamic vinegar out since it’s so strong it overwhelms the taste of the tomatoes. However, if the tomatoes you use are not at their best, balsamic vinegar or a balsamic glaze drizzled on top is a good option for adding sweetness (sherry vinegar is also nice).
Makes 2 servings

YOU WILL NEED

LEMON BASIL CHICKEN BREASTS
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 ounces each)
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Pinch crushed red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil, for cooking
CAPRESE SALAD
3/4 pound ripe tomatoes, at room temperature
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and fresh ground black pepper
2 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
Handful fresh basil leaves, torn into pieces
2 cups baby spinach leaves

DIRECTIONS

  • PREPARE CHICKEN
  • Combine lemon juice, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper flakes in a resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken breasts, seal the bag, and then move the chicken around the marinade so that it is completely coated. Marinate 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
When ready to cook, brush extra garlic from the chicken and pat dry. Heat olive oil in a medium frying pan (with lid) over medium-high heat. As soon as the oil is hot and looks shimmery, add the chicken. Cook 2 to 3 minutes until golden. Flip, reduce heat to low then cover with lid. Cook 10 to 20 minutes or until an instant read thermometer reads 165 degrees F when inserted into the thickest part of the breast. Transfer chicken to a plate then cover loosely with aluminum foil. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, slice, and then serve with the caprese salad.
    • MAKE CAPRESE SALAD
    • About 20 minutes before serving make the caprese salad. Chop tomatoes into bite-size chunks then add to a medium bowl. Season with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a few grinds of black pepper. Add olive oil, stir then set aside for 15 minutes so that the tomatoes release some juices. Taste and adjust with additional salt and pepper. Tear or cube the mozzarella cheese and stir into the tomatoes.
To serve, make a bed of spinach on a plate, add the sliced chicken then spoon a generous amount of the tomatoes and mozzarella on top. Drizzle some of the liquid left at the bottom of the bowl over the salad. Finish with torn basil leaves and enjoy.

Biafra: IPOB May Stop Igbos from Producing Nigeria’s President – Gov. Rochas Okorocha

posted by Somayina Offor.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has stated that the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra will affect the chances of Igbos to produce Nigeria’s president.
According to him, the agitators had every right to complain about marginalization and not a call for separation from the country. He told newsmen on Thursday that IPOB was not good for the South East, and it was not the best way for them to complain about marginalisation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He said, “There are better ways; the IPOB way is too primitive. If IPOB must do a thing like that it should have changed the name and fought the way Ijaw youths fought, Arewa youths fought, and they would have made more impact. For everything that comes from the Igbo man, we love to go to the extreme.
“Now you want to separate yourself from Nigeria, meanwhile, South-South will not go with you, Edo, Rivers will not go with you. If you cut us off here now as South east, if I need to go to Rivers State, I will go and ask for passport and visa, and we are keeping quiet to say this.
“If there is a crisis now, there is no Hausa man in Igbo land who has a duplex, there is no Yoruba man who has a room and parlour or a N20 million investment in Igbo land, but Igbo have trillions of naira virtually everywhere.
“The same people are asking for secession. If Igbo are asked to go, what happens? They would lose their property, and all of us are keeping quiet, supporting IPOB! It was very childish, and those behind this should stop, that is my advice.
“South-South has produced the president, South-West has produced a president and Vice President, the north has produced many presidents, it is hoping that one day in the next shift, by whatever arrangement, the next people that should be considered is the South-East by Nigeria’s sharing formula.
“So, where are we in our wisdom and the intelligence? That is my position on IPOB; my advice is that Igbo should change their style and condemn IPOB in a manner that should be done and let us flow with the rest of Nigeria for now because we shall benefit more than anyone else.”

20 Gunmen Invade FRSC State Command Shooting Sporadically

posted by Somayina Offor.

Some gunmen numbering over 20 who stormed the FRSC command’s premises on motorcycles and opened fire have killed an official of the traffic agency.
Unidentified gunmen on Thursday invaded the Tsafe Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Zamfara, killing an official, a witness told the News Agency of Nigeria.
The source said the hoodlums numbering over 20 stormed the premises of the command on motorcycles at about 10 a.m. and opened fire on the FRSC personnel.
“There was confusion as sounds of sporadic gunshots rented the air, while the road safety officials around scampered for safety in different directions.
“However, one of the officials was unlucky as he was shot and killed by the attackers,” he said.
According to him, one of the gunmen was killed by soldiers who quickly mobilised to the scene, while the rest escaped into the bush abandoning their motorcycles.
The FRSC Public Education Officer and Spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident.
“It is true that our command in Tsafe, Zamfara, was attacked this morning.
“A Deputy Route Commander of the FRSC was killed by the hoodlums while other staff escaped with one still missing,” Mr. Kazeem told NAN.
He said the Police and the Army had taken over the matter.
According to him, the Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, has condemned the “unprovoked” attack but sued for calm among officials and the general public.
“He is confident that both the police and the army will bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The corps marshal has also reassured officers and men of the corps of their security and safety anywhere in the country.”

Buhari’s Enemies Are Within The APC

posted by Somayina Offor.

The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has revealed that some saboteurs who are devils and specialise in draining the nation’s economy, have infiltrated the ruling APC.

While speaking at a rally organised by various trade associations in Katsina state, on Thursday, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, said that some unnamed persons whom he described as saboteurs, have infiltrated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and are making concerted efforts at frustrating Federal Government’s efforts to transform the country.
The governor who made the revelation at the rally organized in support of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC administration in the state, said the saboteurs, are “devils,” who specialise in draining the nation’s economy.
“These devils are out to pitch the electorate against the Muhammadu Buhari administration,” Masari said.
He argued further that, “since the creation of the country, no government, whether military or civilian has done so much for the ordinary Nigerians than Buhari.
“The enemies of Buhari are the enemies of the people because all Buhari’s programmes are designed to improve the quality of lives of the people, especially the ordinary Nigerians.
“We must all be wary of them; they are greedy persons out to cause confusion because of their selfish interests and because they want to continue to loot and there is no room for that.
“So they devised  a means of pitching the electorate against the government.
“The struggle now is between those who want development for the people and those who want to enrich themselves against the electorate and the principles of the APC.”
Masari said that APC governors across the country are committed to what he described as “the ideals of the party”and that, they cannot be distracted from  delivering on their mandate, “in line with the party’s manifesto.”

More details emerge about ‘missing man-hood’ and the beggar involved

posted by Somayina Offor.

Last week, there was pandemonium in Ikeja area of Lagos today, after a good Samaritan’s man-hood who reportedly gave a beggar a N1,000, allegedly disappeared. Do you remember?
Well, a Nigerian Naval Officer, Kola Onifoto has debunked the report.
According to the officer, the accused is not a ritualist and won’t hurt anyone. He further disclosed that disabled man is a beggar, born with his intestines out and lives around Ahmadiya and well known in the area.

See what he wrote below…
“September 15th like every other day, he went to his normal spot at Ikeja along rail way tracks to beg..
He is a beggar, he was born with his intestines out, he lives around ahmadiya and is well known in the area..
The parents died trying to fix his intestines back and he is left with just a sister who tries her best to take care of him..
On that fateful day, a young man claimed his manhood disappeared after giving him money, in a twinkle of an eye, mob gathered and he was nearly lynched to death before the police came to the rescue..
They’ve made videos of this man, tarnished his image and little pride, they tagged him a ritualist and all sort of names..
He is not a ritualist and won’t hurt anyone..
I want this to go viral, I will be meeting him on Sunday by his grace to interview him and clear his name..
And the paranoid fool had his man-hood back apparently, sadly none of the lynchers recorded when the so called man-hood disappeared..
Just so before you hit anyone on the streets tagged any name, ask questions..
Nobody holy pass o”
