A niece of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs
Kikelomo Anubi (pictured above) who is 64 years
old, is currently expecting her first child after being
married for 28years.
Mrs Anubi, whose Ghanaian husband just returned
home after leaving her for 6 years, spoke to City
People magazine about being an expectant mother at
such an old age
"I am pregnant and permit me to tell you that by
next year when I have my baby I will be 65. I have
been married for 28 years. It may amaze you that I
got pregnant in a natural way. I didn't do IVF. I
have done IVF before at a popular hospital on the
island and it failed. In fact, an uncle of mine who
is a top shot paid for it. I almost lost my life but
God intervened". she said.
Asked how she is related to the former President,
Mrs Anubi said;
"He is my Uncle and somebody I respect so much.
My mum is his elder sister and if you look at my
face, you will see the resemblance. I am also from
Owu" she said

2015: ‘8,000 groups rooting for Jonathan’
No fewer than 8, 000 support groups across the
country have registered their willingness to enlist in
the ongoing campaign for President Goodluck
Jonathan to seek re-election in 2015.
The President's Political Adviser, Prof. Rufai Ahmed
Alkali, stated this Monday while briefing reporters
on the activities of the groups which are being
coordinated by his office.
The groups, under the umbrella of the Goodluck
Support Group (GSG) are apparently waiting to be
mobilsed with funding from official and other
sources.
While submitting its report, a 10-man special
committee set up by Alkali to restructure and
streamline the activities of the support groups, stated
that more groups would still be joining the
bandwagon in the days ahead.
The Chairman of the Committee, Gen. Adamu
Ibrahim (rtd) observed that opposition to President
Jonathan's 2015 ambition would be stiffer than what
obtained in the 2011 presidential election.
He enjoined the leadership of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) and the Presidency to come
up with campaign strategy strong enough to ensure
Jonathan's victory in 2015.
Alkali assured the various groups of official support,
irrespective of their sizes, saying that they would all
be carried along in the scheme of things.

APGA Endorses Jonathan For Second Term, As TAN Rallies South-South
Solidarity for President Goodluck Jonathan
has started pouring in from different
quarters.
The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria and
members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,
APGA, both have endorsed President Jonathan for a
second term.
At different rallies held in Port Harcourt and
Anambra State, both groups unanimously agreed
that one good term deserves another.
Thousands of transformation ambassadors gathered
at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt Rivers
State to ask the President to re-contest the presidency
come 2015.
It was the third in the nationwide solidarity
campaign for the President's re-election bid in 2015,
organized by the Transformation Ambassador of
Nigeria.
With solidarity songs and placards displaying their
love, delegates from the South South region of
Nigeria took turns to climb the podium as they
pledged their allegiance to the man they call an agent
of change.
Millions also signed the big book to show their
seriousness in backing President Jonathan for
another term. So far over 4 million signatures from
the South-South region have been gathered.
Meanwhile, in Awka, the capital of Anambra State,
South-East Nigeria, it was a different gathering but
one that tells the same story.
Members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance,
APGA, gathered to rally the support of their members
to endorse President Jonathan for a second term.
The National Chairman of the party, Victor Umeh,
while speaking at the rally said, "Ever since 2011,
APGA has remained a strategic partner to President
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Nigeria.
"We have, as party leaders, at various times, spoken
unequivocally of our support for President Goodluck
Jonathan.
"In 2013, there was a governorship election in
Anambra State, and from what we have seen in
Nigeria under President Goodluck Jonathan's watch,
credible and free election is now the order of the
day…Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria."
The party, therefore, believes that one good term
deserves another.
"Looking at the political template in Nigeria today,
we are certain that President Goodluck Jonathan
needs to be re-elected for another 4 years in office,"
Umeh told the gathering.

Nigeria Is Few Years Away From Ending Rice Importation – Adesina
At a leadership forum at the University of Oxford,
England, the Minister of Agriculture, Dr.
Akinwunmi Adesina, said that "Nigeria's future and
that of the rest of Africa, lies in rural development
through agriculture".
Domestic rice production for Nigeria, if effectively
realised, could change the fortune of local farmers
and create the much needed jobs for the nation's
teeming youth population.
It was an engaging moment on Saturday with
emerging African scholars and leaders from the
Archbishop Tutu Leadership Fellowship at the Said
Business School in Oxford University, England.
Dr Adesina shared with the group milestones in
Nigeria's bold policies and institutional reforms
aimed at transforming the agriculture sector into a
revenue and job spinning sector.
He stressed the need for Africa to focus on innovative
mobilisation of its land and labour capital as a
means of achieving inclusive growth. He urged the
future leaders to champion this cause.
Low human capacity development amidst
infrastructural deficits is a shared challenge across
Africa.
The scholars at the forum, looking to reshape
Africa's economic future, agreed that a rising GDP
does little for actual poverty eradication.
Nigeria's Federal Government has a target of
creating millions of jobs from agriculture by 2015,
four months from now.
Part of this includes changing the general perception
about agriculture as an unfashionable means of
livelihood to a business venture that could create
more jobs for Nigerians.
