JUST IN: Boko Haram And Nigerian Military Fighting Near Maiduguri

Sources near Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, have disclosed thatMEMBERS of the Nigerian armed forces have been involved in firefights with Boko Haram terrorists today.

According to SaharaReporters, multiple sources said that Boko Haram has lost numerous fighters during the latest battles, though no reliable figure of the death toll has been provided.

It was also learnt that some Nigerian soldiers have lost their lives during the fight, but the number of soldier deaths is also unknown and could not be verified by any official military source.

With increase in the terrorist attacks, no less than 140 people were massacred yesterday in a remote village about 150 kilometers away from Maiduguri.

Ohaneze Ndigbo Angry Over Relocation of Boko Haram Insurgents to Anambra

The Igbo socio-politicalGROUP, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has threatened to incite the Igbos to a massive rally against the Federal Government, if the government refused to rescind its decision on the relocation of the Boko Haram insurgents suspects to Ekwulobia prisons in Anambra state.

According to Daily Sun, the state’s president of the organisation, Elder Chris Eluemuno, issued the threat at his countryHOME in Nkwele Ezunaka, Oyi local government area during a chat with newsmen. He showed his regret that the first step President Muhammadu Buhari took on the Ndigbo, was to send insurgents to his state.

He condemned the move, saying Ohaneze Ndigbo, was not happy about the development and expressed his fears that such move may import terrorists into the South-East states. He urged the government to immediately evacuate the terrorists out of Anambra and build camps in the North purposely for their rehabilitation.

He said: “What reason will Buhari give to Ndigbo for anACTION like this?  We are very sad about it and we condemn it in all ramifications. We don’t have maximum-security prisons in the whole of South-East and we don’t know what informed this action. The government should intensify efforts in combating terrorism and not distributing or spreading terrorism in the country.  The movement of suspected terrorists should be restricted in the country so that they won’t have any chance to spread.”

Also reacting, a chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance and a former Senator, Chief Alphonsus Igbeke, condemned the move and said the government’s silence on the matter was unacceptable.

He said the government’sACTION could increase insurgency across the country rather than reducing it. He said the terrorists will now have access to the South-East geo-political zone. He observed that putting the suspected terrorists with other criminals facing other charges in the same detention facility, could make the latter to be indoctrinated by the former, thereby creating more breeding grounds for terrorists.

He urged the federal government to rethink its decision inORDER to prevent the looming crisis. The ex-lawmaker advised the people of the South-Eastern states not to stop their agitation until the government retraces its steps.

Meanwhile, suspected Boko Haram militants have killed 148 people with 68 sustaining injuries in an attack carried out on homes and mosques in Borno state.

A pastor in South Africa who operates a church called End Time Disciples Ministries has performed another bizarre scene in which he purported ‘turned’ the hair of a woman into food which was consumed by churchMEMBERS.

The photos which wereSHARED on Facebook in June, 2015 on the church’s page show a man placing his hand on a woman’s head and then other people are seen eating a patch of hair, supposedly, from the woman’s head.

Couple who were married for 75 years died just hours apart as they held hands in bed

Jeanette Toczko, 96, and her 95-year-old husband, Alexander Toczko, from San Diego, California, died just hoursAPART as they held hands inBED.

The pair spent their lives in love afterBECOMING boyfriend and girlfriend when they were only eight years old. 

But several weeks ago, Mr Toczko suffered a broken hip in a fall and was left bed-bound. A local hospice delivered a special bed to hisHOME, which staff pushed up next to his beloved wife's bed.

As Mr Toczko's condition quickly declined, Mrs Toczko's own health took a turn for the worse. The couple had always said they wished to die 'in their own bed, holding hands, in each other's arms'.

"She kept asking us, 'What is today, what is today?' We said it was June. She said it's June 29th, and June 29th is their 75th wedding anniversary," said Toczko-Cushman.

The family went along with it, buying balloons and flowers to celebrate, inBED.

 
"And we said happy anniversary, and my mother was thrilled to death because it was their anniversary and she knew that he was going and that they had made it to 75 years," said Toczko-Cushman.
 

The couple's daughter, Aimee Toczko-Cushman, described the moment she told her mother she had lost her husband, who kept a photo of Mrs Toczko at her Holy Communion in his wallet.

'I told my mother he was gone,'. 'She hugged him and she said, "See this is what you wanted. You died in my arms and I love you. I love you, wait for me, I'll be there soon".

The family left, leaving the couple toSHARE their final moments together.

"Even the hospice nurse said it was the most incredible thing to see theTWO of them taking those last breaths together," Toczko-Cushman said.

"I knew she wasn't go to last too much longer," Toczko said

"And he died in her arms, which is exactly what he wanted. I went in there and told my mother he was gone; she hugged him and she said, 'See this is what you wanted. You died in my arms and I love you. I love you, wait for me, I'll be there soon,'" said Toczko-Cushman. "It was tough," said Toczko.

The couple who were married for 75 years have fulfilled their final wish to die in each other's arms after they passed away clutching hands, within hours of each other, in theirBED.

About 24 hours later, it became time for Jeanette toJOIN her husband.

"They both entered the pearly gates holding hands," said Toczko.

The Toczkos have since been buried.

Alexander Toczko was a World War II veteran.

9 year old girl Splendour Joe Abisoye has written a book on terrorism which she titled 'Effects of Terrorism on Children'. Little Miss Splendour presented her book to the Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade in Abuja yesterday July 2nd.

 

In the book, Splendour shared her experience when she visited an IDP camp in the North and what some of the children there told her.
