Couple see an adult face in the ultrasound photo of their unborn baby

Parents-to-be Yvonne Spence and John Reynolds who have experienced a difficult pregnancy went for an ultrasound on their unborn baby boy at 32 weeks. After a scare over their baby's movement last week.
When they got home, John says:

"We never noticed anything until we got home and looked at the scan picture, as we were more concerned everything was OK with baby."

As the couple looked at the image in more detail, they noticed an adult face in the scan picture.

John freely admitted his astonishment, he said:

"You can clearly see the face of a young man in the scan picture, we can not explain this - and are spooked by it!"

John says the face bears no resemblance to anyone on either side of their families, but that it has made him wonder about other spiritual occurrences out there.

Their son is due in early November and the excited parents have chosen the name 'Ruairidh' for him, meaning 'red-haired king.'

They also intend to show him the scan photo when he's older.

Kaduna state governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has banned citizens from any social gatherings in public places over fears of Boko Haram attacks.

In a statement by the Media Aide to the Governor, Malam Samuel Aruwan, the government had made the decision after a State Security Council meeting.

Aruwan stated: “The Security Council commended members of the general public for supporting the Kaduna State Government and the security agencies to uphold peace and order in the state. The Council noted that soft targets have been attacked in several states, including ours.”
He pointed out that, “Government is therefore obliged to take actions to protect citizens and increase security activity. Therefore enhanced security measures will be put implemented in places of worship, including prayer grounds. Government regrets any inconvenience to citizens that may arise from such restrictions and security activity.”

Aruwan argued that, “in other to ensure hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and safeguard security of lives and property in the course of the Sallah festivities, the Security Council has taken measures”, adding, “all parks and recreational centres, including Gamji Gate Park, the Amusement Park, Kaduna, and other related places will not be open for social gathering.”
But he explained that, “Murtala Muhammad Square, Kaduna, will, as usual, host Eid prayers; it will, however, not be open for any social gathering or celebration except for the prayers as stated.”

8-month-old found dead in car at Walmart car park

Ohio Police are investigating the death of an 8-month-old boy who was found dead in a car at a Walmart parking lot here Wednesday.
According to the Macedonia Police Department, a parent or guardian drove the family's four children to a day care center at around 8 a.m.
Three of the children got out of the car at the day care, but the 8-month-old was left in a car seat.
Three to four hours later, the child’s grandmother drove the vehicle to her job at Walmart. The woman reportedly did not look in the back of the vehicle and did not see the baby.

Around 5:30 p.m., the baby's mother called the grandmother to say that she couldn't find the baby.

When the grandmother went out to the parking lot to check the vehicle, she found the baby dead.

A portion of the parking lot was closed Wednesday night while police searched the vehicle at the scene.

The car was towed shortly after 8 p.m., and the parking lot reopened.

ALERT: Boko Haram Likely To Launch Attacks In Lagos – NSA

The National Security Adviser (NSA) office has issued a disturbing alert that Boko Haram insurgents plot to launch attacks in Lagos.
Specifically, in Lagos seaports, Vanguard reports.
The alert was made after the US Embassy had lamented over the security situation at the sea ports. The notice triggered the increase in the level of security checks and imposition of additional restrictions.
Port Facility Security Officer Forum on its part ordered the body members to enhance surveillance and limit access to the premises.
An increased number of clearing agents have been observed at the Nigerian Ports Authority since last week.
Zeb Ikokide, the Forum vice chairman, warned Customs to stop delaying cargoes at the gates, noting that all the work with documentation should be finished before the items reach the exit gate.
Olayiwola Shittu, Customs official, urged Nigerian to be vigilant and assist security agencies in ensuring safet at the ports.

A suspected Boko Haram member, Abdullahi Adamu, has been recently arrested in Ijora area of Lagos on a tip-off from the locals. The man confessed to belonging to the terrorist organisation.

Beninoise man arrested for murder over birthday pig in Lagos

A 30-year-old Beninoise man, Samuel Francis, stabbed 35-year-old Clement Houme to death in Lagos, during a fight over a pig for a birthday celebration. According to reports, Samuel had been contracted by a relative of the deceased, identified as Victoria, to kill the pig for her birthday celebration.

When Houme got there with his brother, he asked the celebrant where they got the pig from,  accusing them of stealing the pig.

According to Punch, an argument ensued among the three men, and in the ensuing scuffle, Samuel stabbed the victim with the knife he brought to slaughter the pig with.

Houme  reportedly died from his injuries.

Samuel, who was also injured, was first treated before he was arrested by policemen from the Tarkwa Bay Police Division.

Samuel that Huome had first attacked his brother.

He said:

“I have my family in Cotonou, but I came to Lagos in 2010 to hustle. I was in my house on Saturday when I was called to kill a pig meant for a birthday celebration.

“The next day, around 6am while I was still on the bed, the people called me on the telephone that I should come. I called my brother, Jeff, to assist me.

“When we got there, we were given the pig by a man. It was around 6.30am that Huome came and started quarrelling with us. Before we knew what was happening, he broke two bottles and stabbed my brother in the head. As I tried to restrain him, he came after me and cut me in the hand, as well. When I could not handle it again, I stabbed him in the shoulders with my knife.”

Samuel said he ran to the police station to seek refuge from the deceased and a mob that came to attack him.

He said the police took him to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he was admitted for a week, before his eventual arrest for the crime.

He said:

“The man’s family has already said they were no longer interested in the case, but the police said it had become a government matter and there was nothing that could be done.

“I have nobody to help me in Lagos. My wife has left me for another man. Our six-months-old baby is now with my grandma in Benin Republic and I came to Lagos to make money; but see where I have found myself?. Who will help me now?”

The suspect was arraigned on Wednesday before an Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court on two counts of murder.

The police, in a remand application, said the defendant had confessed to the crime, was identified by witnesses and arrested with a weapon.

The prosecutor subsequently asked the court to remand him in prison, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

“We have a request for remand, based on Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State.

The remand will enable us to obtain legal advice from the DPP,” Ighodalo said.

The magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, agreed to remand the defendant in prison.

 

The case was adjourned till October 23, 2015 for legal advice.

We’ve not received any bail out yet-Enugu govt

Contrary to what CBN said about giving Enugu State N4.207 billion as bail-out funds designed by the Federal Government for payment of workers salary arrears,the state government yesterday,denied to have received any fund.

Reports indicated last week that the state was among five additional states that have received bail-out funds from CBN.
According to Vanguard,the Chief Press Secretary to the governor,Mr. Uwakwe Abugu contacted the Commissioner of Finance and faulted the CBN’s position, adding that the state was not owing workers salaries.
Abugu said:

The government is not owing worker’s salaries. The bail-out accruable to Enugu State is meant for the payment of pension arrears and salaries due to casual workers.

“The CBN has placed conditions for states to access the  bail-out. The state executive council must meet and approve the bail-out. It will then be sent to the House of Assembly for consenting and an Irrevocable Standing Payment Order,ISPO, issued to enable CBN deduct at source when allocations become available.

APC Bayelsa guber primary: Sylva replies Oshiomole, describes him as Unfortunate

Former Bayelsa state governor, Timipre Sylva has reacted to allegations made against him by Adams Oshiomole that he used thugs to disrupt the smooth election process at the APC governorship primary which held on Tuesday September 22nd. Sylva's reaction is contained in a statement released by his media aide Media Adviser, Doifie Bukoribo, yesterday night

“It is unfortunate that people like Adams Oshiomhole, the governor of Edo State and former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, who pretend to be incorruptible, would conduct himself in the manner in which he did in relation to the Bayelsa State governorship primary.
It was clear that Oshiomhole never wanted to conduct the primary as scheduled. First, on his request, the primary was shifted from its earlier date of Saturday, September 19 to the Tuesday, September 22 date. The grouse of the delegates was that the primaries had been shifted once on Oshiomhole’s request. That shift caused enough hardship already. The ‘comrade’ was again shifting the goal post, without giving consideration to these hapless delegates. It was that frustration that we were managing. It is so sad that the governor did not appreciate our effort. Second, as chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, Oshiomhole knew full well that accreditation of delegates was to begin at 8am on Tuesday, September 22, but he came to the venue of the programme well past 12 noon. After he arrived at that late hour, he proceeded with a meeting with the committee members and another meeting with the aspirants. He clearly had preconceived plans about the Bayelsa APC governorship primary. Third, Oshiomhole cannot really say anything about the primary election because he had left the venue at the time voting commenced. Oshiomhole set the process in motion for voting to commence before he excused himself on the grounds that he was going to eat, and he mandated other members of the committee to carry on without him. The world needs to know that the Bayelsa State Electoral Committee is made up of seven members, and of the seven only Oshiomhole left. The other six remained, conducted the primary and declared Sylva winner of the exercise. Fourth, it bothers on pettiness for Governor Oshiomhole to quote me as antagonist to new entrants to our party. Every discussion I had with the governor was public. The only private conversation I had with him was when he walked up to me and asked me if I truly believed he was working. against my interest. To that I answered ‘YES’. As a man of integrity (?) he even offered to step down as chairman. If he had stepped down would that have invalidated the primaries? We should refrain from exaggerating our worth and integrity. Let other good people judge our character. After all, I was the one that received all new entrants. Oshiomole was invited and he did not come. Fifth, Oshiomhole came to Yenagoa with a clear agenda, which was to get me out of the race at all cost. We are aware that he had been lobbying at the centre to get me out of the race in order to pave the way for one of the aspirants. Indeed, one of the aspirants had boasted openly that Oshiomhole would cancel the primary once he arrived, shortly before his arrival. Oshiomhole should not tell lies, if I was not there, contrary to his insinuation that I rented thugs to manhandle him, the crowd would have manhandled him. I personally accompanied Oshiomhole to the gate when he was going to eat. Seventh, if Oshiomhole has anything personal against me, let him tell the world. We are shocked that the man who claims to be morally upright with a strong ethical orientation would land in Yenagoa for an exercise in which he ought to be an impartial arbiter with a helicopter provided by a friend of one of the aspirants.”"he said

Code of Conduct Trial: Ex minister tells Saraki to resign now

Former minister of state for Education, Kenneth Gbagi, has asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to resign as Senate president following his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Speaking to journalists in Abuja yesterday September 23rd, Gbagi said;

"We have a problem in Nigeria where we don’t have people of honor, dignity and integrity. The mere fact that the senate president has lied by doing anticipatory declaration indicates that he has no business being a senate president living with tax payers money.
Nigerians will not have faith in anything that comes out of his senate that is shared or presented by that kind of person. The entire international community will not believe in the passage of any Bill under his leadership. He (Saraki) cannot be seen to sit in that house now as senate president because whatever he does questions the integrity of the entire senate"he said However while reacting to Gbagi's call for Saraki's resignation, the special adviser media to the Senate President, Yusuf Olaniyonu, said that Gbagi is a rabble rouser who lacks the locus standi to advise on the matter. “What’s the pedigree of the former minister? When has accusations turned to convictions, the senate president cannot dignify him with a response,the trial is ongoing and the senate president has not been found guilty, so how can he resign? “he said

TRAGEDY: Two Siblings Burnt To Death In Osogbo Petrol Station Inferno

On Tuesday, September 23, two siblings died in inferno that gutted a supermarket attached to Bovas Petrol Station in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
According to an eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the victims were children of the owner of the station located in front of Osogbo Grammar School.
The Sun reports that the woman (name withheld) and her three children were inside the supermarket when the fire started. She miraculously escaped death with heavy burns on her back but managed to rescue one of her children. Unfortunately, the other two kids got trapped and burnt to death.
Michael Ogundipe, the director of Osun state fire service, stated that as soon as they were alerted about the inferno, two vehicles were sent to the scene of the incident. However, the firemen could not get there early due to traffic on roads.
“We met the fire but our efforts were to no avail because the building was not good. There is only one exit in the building,” he added. If there were more exit, the victims would have been saved,” he added.

Ogunpide confirmed that two lives were lost in the incident, adding that the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.
The director of the fire service called on Nigerians to obtain fire extinguisher in order to prevent such horrible tragedies.
“I observed that there is no fire extinguisher at present in the fire station. If they had, they would have been able to stop the fire before it escalated,” he noted.
Meanwhile, some sympathisers who spoke with journalists at the scene, described the owner of the station as one of the most honest petroleum marketers in the state. They called on security agencies to launch proper investigation and find out the cause of the fire.
