Navy arrest okada snatchers in Anambra state.

Welcome to somayina's blog

Luck has run out on some suspected
criminals who specialise in snatching
motorcycles from their unsuspecting
owners in Onitsha, Anambra State, as
some men of the Nigerian navy on
Thursday swooped on them.
The suspects were also alleged to have
duped many people in the town of large
sums of money before they were arrested
by naval officers at about 12 noon along
Atani road while they were trying to
escape with a snatched motorcycle.
Parading the suspects in Onitsha, Navy
Capt. Mike Oamen, commanding officer of
the naval out-post in Onitsha, told
newsmen that the navy would continue to
flush out criminals in the town.
Oamen noted that the navy would bring
relief to residents of Anambra, especially
those who live along the River Niger and
its adjoining communities.
“We would intensify our hunt for
criminals, both on the River Niger as well
as communities along the river to ensure
that our people are safe,’’ he said.
He urged the residents not to shield any
dubious or nefarious characters around
them.
“We need prompt information to continue
to make Onitsha safe for all as well as
check people with wicked intentions,’’ he
noted.
One of the suspects, Chigbo Daniel, said
he had been into crime for a long.
Daniel disclosed that he sold the
motorcycles for “N5,000 and above.
