Pandemonium broke out in Majidun area of Ikorodu after a drunk Naval personnel allegedly opened fire on three persons, leaving them in critical condition.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3p.m. at Tipper
Park, when the Naval personnel reportedly left his duty post to hangout.
According to eyewitness, on getting to the Tipper Park, he opened fire on three persons, who were going about their businesses.
It was learnt that the incident sparked pandemonium as business activities there were brought to abrupt halt for hours, while the victims were rushed to the hospital.
The victims who received several gunshots were immediately referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH.
The suspected naval rating was said to be one of the personnel mounting surveillance in the area to checkmate pipeline vandalism.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Patricia Amadin, confirmed the report, adding that the suspect had been arrested and was currently being detained at Naval Base, Ikorodu, while investigations into the matter had begun.
