My Government Is For The Poor – Governor

 The Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, has maintained that his administration is poised to protect the interests of the masses.

The governor who stated this during a press briefing with media men in Calabar on Yesterday, August 20, stressed that he is set to send an executive bill to the state House of Assembly to exempt low income earners in the state from taxation.
Ayade also said his government is set to issue appointment letters to one thousand applicants engaged within his 100 days in office.

“Basically, I hope you are going to see the vibrancy of the new government which would come with such energy that will certainly bring a change in the economy.“We are compelled to do so because my own government is for the poor. That is my heritage, and I have never hidden it. I am not shy about it. The anthropology of an average African man is to provide a shoulder for his brother to lean on,” he said.
He also explained the economic benefits of the state’s proposed garment factory which he claimed will create one thousand jobs to mark his 100 days in office.
