11 Most Dangerous Roads To Ride On Okada In Lagos

 Lagos has some of the busiest roads in the country today. Commuting on Lagos roads can be a frightening experience. The traffic problem in the city is compounded by the population which has led to inadequate transportation system.This in turn has given rise to the emergence of commercial motorcycle as means of transportation. But it is dangerous to ride on Okada on major highways.

The introduction of commercial motorcycles as a means of transportation has led to accidents and deaths in the city of Lagos. In the last few years the Lagos State government has enacted a plethora of traffic laws to contain the menace of motorcycle popularly called Okada accidents.

Sometime ago, the state government restricted Okada riders from plying 474 routes out of 9,100 Lagos roads. The Ministry of Transportation also listed 11 Expressways where Okada and their passengers must not be found in the city.
If you are a Lagosian or just visiting this city, riding Okada on the listed routes constitute a grievous offense which attracts a fine.

The penalty for riding Okada on the routes above is a fine of N20, 000 for first offender and N30,000 for subsequent officer and Okada will be impounded.
