Two notorious armed robbers who had been terrorizing a big market in Anambra were apprehended yesterday and jungle justice was given to them.
Nemesis caught up with the two robbers who were said to have constituted a menace to traders and customers who patronize the popular new motor tyre market in Nkpor and its environs in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The armed robbers met their waterloo when they attempted to snatch an undisclosed sum of money from a trader who came to procure something in the market. According to Vanguard reports, the robbers who operated using motorbike allegedly stopped the trader along the Onitsha/ Enugu Expressway and at gunpoint ordered the trader to hand over his money.
According to an eyewitness when the trader resisted the order, they shot at him thrice but the bullet did not penetrate his body. Sensing danger the robbers tried to flee the scene when the trader bought out his dagger which he used to stab one of the robbers on the chest. As luck will have it, an oncoming car hit their motorbike and they fell off. Anxious onlookers immediately mobilized and set the robbers ablaze.
The police were reported to get to the scene after the robbers were set ablaze thus they took the robbers’ gun and bike.
In the same manner armed robbers had shot dead Iphie Aggrey-Fynn who before her death was a staff of Rhythm 93.7fm, Port-Harcourt.
The Ghanaian born On-Air-Personality and blogger had gone to see her parents in Aba and was attacked on her way back along the Aba – Port Harcourt Expressway.
