The federal government has declared Thursday
September 24 and Friday September 25 as public holidays to commemorate
the Muslim festival, Eid-El-Kabir.
Yusuf Isiaka Alhaji the Director of Press, Ministry of Interior, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, September 21.
Abubakar Magaji, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, urged all Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians to extend the religious benefits of the festival, which includes love, peace, empathy and tolerance to one another for the overall development of the country.
In a related development, Malam Yahya Al-Yolawi, the Chief Imam of Area 10 Juma’ah Mosque, Abuja, has admonished Muslims to avoid slaughtering sick animals for Eid-El-Kabir sacrifice.
