Senator Mao Ohiabunwua (Abia North district)
belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is not happy with with
President Muhammadu Buhari for excluding the South East zone in his
appointments so far.
According to him, the deliberate exclusion of South East people from appointments was a time bomb waiting to explode, The Punch reports.
“I don’t believe we can be running this country without Ndigbo. I believe that sidelining Ndigbo is a time bomb that is waiting to explode,” he said.
Ohiabunwua stated this on Saturday, September 19, in an interview with newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.
The PDP senator accused Buhari of denying Ndigbo opportunities to serve in his administration under the pretense of searching for saints.
Arguing that Ndigbo had a whole range of people with impeccable character, Ohiabunwua asked the president to come to him so he would donate a man of integrity to him.
He added that the Buhari-led government would fail if he goes on sidelining the Igbos, urging him to carry Ndigbo along in his government.
Recall that the South-East chapter of the APC had said the governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha should be held responsible for the region’s exclusion in appointments made by President Buhari. They accused the governor of of not truly campaigning for Buhari or the party in the build up to the March 28 presidential/National Assembly elections.
Okorocha had however, urged Igbos to support the Buhari-led government instead of antagonizing it over its recent appointments.
