A police Armoured Personnel Carrier, on Sunday, crushed two kids of the same parents to death in Osun State.
It was gathered that the kids were playing in front of their parents ‘
residence when the driver of the vehicle lost control, rammed into an
electric pole before crushing the kids.
Residents alleged that the APC’s driver was drunk.
The older kid, Sade was said to be five years old while the other one, Aanu was three years old.
Apparently angered by the development, angry mob were said to have attacked the ‘A’ Division Police Station at Ayeso where they vandalised all the police operational vehicles parked in the station, including other valuable properties and the police quarters inside the station.
Policemen on duty were reported to have engaged the mob by firing tear gas canisters and shot into the air repeatedly to disperse them.
Punch learnt that the mob did not leave the station until they accomplished their mission.
However, the victims’ father was said to have gone to the police station to collect the corpses but he was denied.
But the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said that the policeman, who drove the APC lost control and hit an electric pole, which eventually electrocuted the kids.
