Boko Haram: 26 Killed, Others Injured In Renewed Attacks In Borno

Men of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) estimate that about 26 people have been killed by Boko Haram militants in two separate attacks on two Borno villages on Tuesday, September 1.
According to Sahara reporters, Boko Haram militants rode on horses to ‎the remote villages of Kolori in Damboa Local Government Area and opened fire on civilians, killing at least 18 and carting away foodstuffs.

Abubakar Damboa, a member of CJTF said: ”They came on horses at about 5:30 pm yesterday, opened fire on people, killing no fewer than 18 people and injuring 7 others.”
Similarly, the insurgents went on to Ba’na Iman village a few kilometres away from Kolori raided civilians at about 6:45 pm, on Tuesday, September 1.
A resident of Ba’na Iman village, Bulama Kaigama, said that 8 civilians were killed and some residents had fled to Biu IDPS camp because all their homes have been burnt and their foodstuffs, cattle, and goats have been carted away.

Meanwhile, Sani Usman, spokesman for the Nigerian military has said that Nigerian troops have succeeded in recapturing Gamboru Ngala in Borno state from Boko Haram insurgents.
Usman in a statement, disclosed that the economic and strategic town in the Northeastern part of Nigeria was recaptured by troops on Tuesday, September 1.
Further insight wasn’t given as to the operation, but the Army spokesman said that as of the time of his statement, military personnel were clearing the town and mapping out patrol strategies.
