A bomb exploded on a bus killing an
11-year-old girl. 23 more were injured, some of them critically. Police
suspects Islamists of perpetrating this act of terror.
The bomb believed to be laden by the Islamist extremists exploded
today in a crowded bus in the southern Philippines in in Zamboanga City,
875 kilometres South of Manila, killing an eleven-year-old girl. 23
more passengers were wounded.
“The injured were rushed to hospitals for various wounds from the blast which triggered a fire that destroyed the bus,’’ a police spokesman told the press.
Authorities consider that the explosion may be orchestrated by the Islamists in the area. Besides that another possible motive for a terroristic attack may be extortion. Three people were killed in the same area in a similar bus explosion in 2013.
Meanwhile, about 7 people lost their lives yesterday, Friday, September 11, during a bomb blast which happened at the Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons camp Yola, Adamawa state.
According to reports, suspected members of the terror group, Boko Haram, detonated an Improvised Explosive Device inside a tent.
