Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state on Wednesday, September 16, reacted to the allegation of marginalisation of Muslims in his appointment of political office holders in the state, leveled against him by the League of Imams and Alfa.
The embittered governor disclosed that record is there to show that he was the first governor to appoint a Muslim, Alhaji Yakubu Sanni, as a Permanent Secretary.
Governor Fayose said this while addressing workers at the lecture marking the end of the 3-days programme of the 2015 Civil Servants Day in Ado Ekiti.
He further stated that he appointed a Muslim traditional ruler as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Muslim members from the Hausa and Egbira communities, a Muslim as local government caretaker chairman and a Muslim as Special Adviser on inter party affairs.
Fayose however warned those fueling religious crisis in the state to desist or face the wrath of laws.
In another development, the General Secretary of the League of Imams and Alfas in the state, Alhaji Abdulrazak Adenipekun has debunked the media reports credited to one, Alhaji Quadri Oguntuase that they should not receive any Allah gifts from the governor over his lopsidedness in his appointment.
Oguntuase claimed to have spoken as the Assistant Secretary General of the League of Imam and Alfas in Ekiti state, the position, the group claimed never to be existed.
They therefore dissociated themselves from the purported press statement credited to Alhaji Quadri Oguntuase and one Fatai Jimoh, who claimed to have represented Ansar-ud-deen Missioner and Imam Abdul Rasak.
The League however maintained that they will stand solidly behind the administration and pledged to continue to support the government in prayers to succeed.
They therefore warned those behind the mischief to stop it or risk the wrath of the Almighty Allah.
