Boko Haram: 130 killed, 35 injured as Military repels Bama invasion

The Borno youth vigilantes, commonly called
Civilian JTF had Tuesday afternoon refuted ongoing
media reports that Boko Haram insurgents have
taken over the authority of Bama town.
The group said that on the contrary, it was the
insurgents that suffered a huge casualty in the attack,
as they lost close to 130 of their members, while 35
others were arrested and are currently in custody.
At a press briefing in Maiduguri, spokesman of the
JTF who is also the legal Adviser of the group,
Barrister Jibrin Gunda, said: "we categorically refute
the statement credited to Senator Ahmed Zanna, the
senator representing Borno central on BBC Hausa
service that the Boko Haram have capture Bama.
"News has filtered most especially on foreign media
to which we want to clearly state that our security
personnel are doing their best and yesterday our
gallant soldiers successfully repelled the insurgents
who attacked Bama and Bama as a town in Borno
State has never been overrun or overtaken by the
insurgents even for a minute, even as of now, our
soldiers are in full control of the town'' He said.
